The holiday hotel "Forelle" is a traditional, family run hotel in the upper Bode Valley ("Bodetal"), located beside the conservation area of the same name.

Interesting hiking destinations include Hexentanzplatz with its outdoor theatre, the Rosstrappe rock, the Wendefurt and Rappbode dams, the charcoal burning plant at Stemberghaus, the Rübeländer caves and the Regenstein castle ruins in Blankenburg.
One of the most popular day trip destinations, whether you are travelling by foot or via the Harz Mountain Railway, is the peak of Brocken. Quedlinburg with its cathedral is also worth a visit, as is Wernigerode and the town of Stolberg with its timber-framed buildings. The hotel occupies a timber-framed building from the end of the 18th century. It lies directly on the Bode river and is the area's oldest guesthouse.
