Cancun
Cancun or Cancun is a city located on the coast of the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico, on a peninsula that has become one of the most important tourist centers in the world, having managed to preserve its natural beauties and ancestral culture, represented mainly in cities Maya, Tulum, Uxmal or Chichen Itza, founded in the pre-Columbian period.
In Cancun there are about 22 kilometers of fine sandy beaches, divided between the lagoon and the sea. Ruins, beaches, vegetation, parks full of entertainment shows, climate, marine fauna and hotel structure make Cancun one of the most visited tourist destinations in the world.
Tourism
It was not difficult for Cancun to win the spotlight and become, in the last two decades, Mexico's main tourist destination. The annual average temperature is 27 degrees, being able to arrive near the 40 in the pin of the summer. The Caribbean Sea, with its lukewarm and green water, is a gimmick for swimmers, surfers and divers. On the main avenue, visitors alternate their walks among fashionable restaurants, international shopping centers, spas and lively ballads. This is what everyone likes and it seems that everyone is going to Cancun at the same time.

Much of the tourist life is practiced in the long narrow strip between the Nichupté lagoon and the sea. All-inclusive resorts lie side by side in this waterfront region, as well as crowded attractions such as the Hard Rock Cafe and La Isla Shopping Village, where you can swim with dolphins. A little less crowded options are right next to the downtown area, on the other side of the lagoon, with ample infrastructure to meet the constant flow of visitors, including noisy American students. Restaurants, nightclubs, nightclubs and bars are everywhere, as are shopping centers and banking services. More pleasant and serene alternatives can be found outside this true Mexican turmoil, along the coast of the Yucatan peninsula. In fact, Cancun is a great base to explore the region and go a bit deeper into the Mayan culture. Among the possible and most popular tours are the archaeological zone of Tulum, with its walled city facing the ocean, dives with fish of different colors and shapes (or with the whale shark) and in the indescribable islands Isla Mujeres (to the north ) and Cozumel (to the south) and lots of fun in the trendy Playa Del Carmen.

Those who travel with their families (mainly with children) should not stop swimming with the dolphins in special tanks, while lovers of deep sea fishing will have great infrastructures at hand.

The Mayan Riviera

They are approximately 120 kilometers from a stunning coastline bathed by the Caribbean Sea. The most beautiful stretch of the Yucatan Peninsula, the Mayan Riviera has one of the largest marine life diversities in the country, with the second largest coral reef in the world, beaches and islands perfect for diving, native forests, archaeological sites and tourist attractions ranging from golf courses to five-star spas. Its main business card is Cancun, a true tourist playground that combines hotels of all standards spread over a 20-kilometer long coastline, over 500 restaurants and some white sand beaches and green water that allow days and days of relaxation . From here, it is easy to visit Xcaret and Xel-Ha, the two main theme parks in Mexico and where you can snorkel in its underground rivers.

Isla Mujeres, a few miles away, and Cozumel to the south, attract tourists eager for sun, sea and drinks, while the ruins of Tulum and Chichen Itza satisfy adventurers wishing to play Indiana Jones.
Gastronomy
The Mayan cuisine includes chicken, pork, rabbit, beans, corn and habaneras peppers and mountain peaks. There are also lots of seafood dishes.
Suggestions:
Tikin Xic fish, is made with a paste of tomatoes, sweet peppers, achiote (a Mexican spice), orange and onion. Roasted in coal.
Ceviche, octopus, fish or shrimp.
The Mexican is prepared with a tomato and orange sauce, with chopped tomato, onion and avocado.
Weather
Cancun is located on the eastern coast of the continent, so it is influenced by warm ocean currents, mainly the Gulf of Mexico, which promotes a warm, rainy, typically tropical environment.
The predominant climate of the municipality of Benito Juárez is included in Group A, wet type, which is hot with rain throughout the year, although more abundant in the summer.
The annual average temperature varies around 27ºC. The annual total rainfall varies between 1000 and 1300 mm. The eastern and southeasterly winds prevail during the summer, the area affected by tropical storms and cyclones. Hurricane season begins in mid-June and the most affected months are September and October.
