The National Museum of Prague (in Czech: Národní muzeum) is one of the main museums in Prague. It occupies a neorrenacentista building located at the end of the place of Wenceslas, the main one of the city. Its central vestibule also serves as pantheon for the great Czechs.
Since its construction (1885-1891), this building has witnessed the most important events in Czech history. Its facade, still marked by bullets, recalls the entrance of the Soviet tanks in 1968.

The rich collections of natural sciences are present in different sections. On the first floor are exposed prehistoric objects. One of the most beautiful collections of mineralogy in the world highlights precious and semi-precious stones. The second floor is dedicated to zoology (a rich collection of fossils) and anthropology.
The national museum is the ideal place for family educational visits. You will find the mammoth giants hunted by prehistoric hunters, anacondas and other terrestrial and marine predators.
For lovers of music, we would like to inform you that chamber music concerts and choirs are held in this building.
