This natural area located in Loreto is part of the rainforest, one of the most biologically rich places on the planet.



This reserve takes its name from the Pacaya and Samiria rivers, which form swamps and calm waters, which reflect the images of the sky and the forest ... that's why it is known as "The Land of the Mirrored Rivers".



Pacaya Samiria is Peru's largest nature reserve, its waters are home to 250 species of fish, the paiche is the largest freshwater fish in the world, weighing 3 meters and 200 pounds.



183 km southwest of Iquitos. The shortest route is Iquitos-Nauta by road and river from Nauta to the Community on February 20 (15 hours by boat or 4 hours by slider). To access, you must request INRENA's permission and pay the corresponding fees.



We also find the pink dolphin, the alligator, the anaconda boa constrictor and the herbivorous manatee that consumes the aquatic vegetation, avoiding bumps in the watercourses.

The reserve's forest is home to 800 tree species that house 330 bird species, 13 monkey species, and otorongs, sachavacas, rhombs and sloths.
