Phuket
Phuket, formerly known as Thalang and, in Western sources and charts, Jung Ceylon is one of the southern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. The neighboring provinces are (clockwise north) Phang Nga and Krabi, but Phuket is an island on the land borders.

Phuket, which is slightly smaller than the size of Singapore, is the largest island in Thailand. The island is connected to mainland Thailand by two bridges. It is situated on the west coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea. Phuket, formerly, derived its wealth of tin and rubber, and enjoys a rich and colorful history. The island was one of the main trade routes between India and China and was frequently mentioned in foreign ship records of Portuguese, French, Dutch and English merchants. The region now gets much of its tourism revenue.
Tourism
Thailand's largest island has become one of the favorite holiday destinations. This pearl of the sea, a dream of the ancient navigators, was discovered by the Arabs and the Indians between the years 880 and 916 AD Sea lovers can consider it only as an island formed by an infinite chain of magnificent bays with beaches and palm trees , where the view extends to the small islands scattered in the sea. But Phuket is also history and hospitality. Its strong point is to be ideal for all types of tastes, ages and desires.

The island is completely geared towards happiness and the satisfaction of its visitors. E features from affordable bungalows set in idyllic palm gardens to luxurious lodges in residential complexes.

Phuket also offers the possibility of taking part in a multitude of exciting activities: elephant trekking, bungee jumping and all water sports imaginable, and now Phantasea Water Park, to name but a few. The island culture remained intact and, to get an idea, just go to the center to discover the Sino-Portuguese style houses and the houses-Museum. It was the resident immigrants themselves who made Phuket famous, by tin mining and by the gum plantations during the 19th century.
Gastronomy
Clear evidence of the greatness of Phuket gastronomy is the effort made by the province to be nominated for the UNESCO culinary award. In addition, the fact that Phuket cuisine has contributed to the increase in incoming tourism should not surprise you. Local dishes challenge you to try them only by the appearance of your portion. In fact, it would not be an exaggeration to be compared to gastronomic works of art!

Among the most popular dishes you should definitely try is "Oh Aew" dessert. Gelatinous banana flour, boiled red beans and sweet red syrup dipped in ice make absolute temptation. Add to the list of delicacies "Oh Tao", a combination of oysters and crunchy pork, "Hokkien Mee", yellow round noodles accompanied with seafood or pork and "A-pong", the famous sweet pancake.

Being especially famous for its seafood, Phuket ideally combines the tasty and complete cuisine of the sea with the extraordinary beauty of its enchanting ambiance.

Indulge in culinary delights in Phuket prepared by the most talented chefs.
Weather
Under the Köppen climate classification, Phuket features a tropical monsoon climate. Due to its proximity to the equator, in the course of the year, there is little variation in temperatures. The city has an average annual high of 32 ° C (90 ° F) and an annual low of 25 ° C (77 ° F). Phuket has a dry season that runs from December through March and a wet season that covers the other eight months. However, like many cities that feature a tropical monsoon climate, Phuket sees some precipitation even during its dry season. Phuket averages roughly 2,200 millimeters (87in) of rain.
