Gastronomy
The most characteristic of gastronomy in the area of Huelva and consequently in Islantilla is the combination of the products of the land and the sea, given the central location of the area because it is surrounded by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the vegetation of the mountains.
From this combination are the three most characteristic products that are mountain ham, red fruits and berries, seafood and fish from the coast.
From the sea the famous white shrimps of Huelva, tuna and cockles and clams are well-known options, and from the ground, sausages, which are made from pure Iberian pork, as well as blood sausages are also known dishes.
With the combination of these products, exquisite stews are created, such as "Las Sardinas en pimientilla" (sardines in pepper sauce), tuna and tomato, cuttlefish with beans, "el pez espada en amarillo" cayenne pepper and clams with rice.
