Tourism
This is a region of flavors, landscapes, crafts and legacies of the past. A place where one has to let oneself stay and let oneself be involved for centuries of history, to understand time in its fullness, in every sense.
Here, the natural heritage has long been combined with design and modernity, in an immensity of offerings to be lived and savored with calm, minute by minute. Because there is no hurry, there are horse and cart rides in the morning or late afternoon.
Travel with your family through the Theme Parks of Alentejo, towards the adventure.
In addition to living fantastic experiences, the youngest will love completing the "Gilberto" card book and in the end can still win tickets to football!
Fields full of sunflowers remind children to play. Sea, river, dolphins, great outdoors and many swimming pools and river beaches too. For these reasons and many more, Alentejo is family vacation spot.
It is not difficult to awaken our nature as explorers when we come to immense fields where there are mountain, river and sea winds. As if they were the only ones here who are fortunate enough to pass. Even if you are not an organized traveler and forget the compass, the truth is that whatever the coordinates, the Alentejo promises unforgettable landscapes and experiences in each of its fascinating nooks and crannies.

Gastronomy
Pork and lamb are the basis of the traditional gastronomy of the subregion, joining also the game species such as wild boar, rabbit, hare and partridge. Bread, olive oil and aromatic herbs are the key ingredients of Mediterranean cuisine, giving flavor to soups, migas, stews and açordas. Wines, cheeses, sausages and hams - some with Denomination of Origin - are indispensable elements of the good table Alentejo. The eggs, the gila and the almond are integral elements of the confectionery, being emphasized the conventual confectionery. Each locality has its gastronomic specialties.
